Caroline Tosal-Suprun has only one aim in Clife—to ensure that women are given their rightful place in society and, to that end, are counselled and trained to stand shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. Currently she works as Women’s Community Development Officer for Bolton at Home and also coordinates the work at the Christine Partington House Project. She solicited widespread support for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence against Women and Girls. After being persuaded to Take The First Step against gender violence, and support victims, women and girls created special shoes with messages of support. The creations were exhibited in the town hall for 16 days. Recently, Caroline brought 11 different groups together to celebrate the achievements of local women. Over 240 women took part in a range of activities that included singing, dancing, arts and crafts and preparing an expansive Bolton quilt to which everyone was invited to contribute a patch. She also conducted a programme revolving around Female Genital Mutilation. This was an incredible event. She finds it most exciting to support women to achieve their dreams and make their communities a better place to live in. She offers support and guidance, signposts services and training opportunities and helps with accessing funding.
