Mick Moran, who works at the M Royal Bolton Hospital, has lived in Great Lever all of his life and has grown increasingly concerned about the appearance of some parts of the district in recent years. He recalls initially expressing his concern as a ‘rant’ on Facebook – but when someone suggested he take action he decided to go for it rather than just complain. ‘I’m disappointed that some areas of Great Lever look increasingly untidy and uncared for’ he said. ‘In particular the old railway embankment on the approach to the hospital is covered in litter and very unsightly. The hospital has many visitors every day and it creates a very bad impression’.
