Our star volunteer this month is Great lever Connected committee member Tess Simpson, who is also GLC’s Treasurer. Tess is actively involved in the campaign against the controversial Bedroom Tax, which affects thousands in Bolton – many of whom face possible eviction if they don’t pay. She is one of a number of people helping and advising local residents affected by Bedroom Tax. As well as campaigning on this very topical and emotive political issue, Tess has many other interests and she has become a real pillar of the Bolton community. She is very art & craft oriented, and recently was one of those who helped Mick Moran on ‘Rose Planting Day’ in Danby Road (see article in this issue of Chai Times).
Thank you Tess, for your continued and determined efforts to help better the lives of people in our community
