Great Lever resident Wendy Handley is the proud proprietor of a new café facility in the Great Lever Connected (GLC) centre at 98 Calvert Road. Having started just a few weeks ago she presently offers only light refreshments such as tea, coffee, toast and muffins, but has been pleased with the response and hopes to increase the offering in the future. ‘People are already finding that it is a nice place to meet and discuss community events. It is a good way to find out what the community wants and needs in the way of services – and all in a nice friendly environment’ says Wendy. A sign for the café is displayed outside the building when it is open and Wendy has found that people are getting to know about it through word of mouth and mentions on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – and also GLC’s own Facebook page
