I am little, tender and feeble but I know your touch. You are my darling mommy and I love you so much. When you hold me with a smile, I close my eyes and sleep a mile. The day you are upset, jerky and hurt, Oh! I twist and turn, feel cranky and yearn to feel your love. I know it’s veiled beneath your creased brow. So I shift my tiny self, touch you with my little hand, move my face from side to side and babble, “Mah! Mah!” You look so toiled but still you mime, “What happened… my baby?” Mommy I smile for you. Ah! My smile softens your brows and you relax. I’m happy now and I babble again to make you laugh. Oh! Your forehead smoothens as you widen your smile. We chuckle in unison and then you hug me so tight. Our hearts beat for each other; you cajole me with sweet nothings and stroke my baby back. I feel so nice and cosy at your touch; as peaceful silence envelops the two of us. I reach out to touch your ears, tap on your shoulders and hold those strands because I’m so tiny I can’t stroke your back. In your warmth I sleep in peace as my mommy is, now, not in agony. As you rock me to and fro I turn my head to draw you close.
Hmm! I sleep so well. Then in my sleep I see you in a light. Ah! You look like an angel so gentle and kind. You are love, now I know for sure. Those creases and tough brows were just a windy cue to help me understand, ‘No Matter What’ I should learn to behold just the angel in you.
