Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary take place on Saturday 23 April and Bolton Central Library is calling on you to take part in the Shakespeare selfie event. One of the world’s finest actors, Sir Ian McKellen has kick started it for us!
The actor, who lived in Bolton, has played several Shakespearean roles and performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre. When he recently visited Central Library and Museum and said that he would take part.
Sir Ian, who starred as Gandalf in The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, chose to read a quote from the play ‘As You Like It’ – ‘All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.’
