A small team from Muslim Community Events (MCE) events are going to be travelling to Austria this December. MCE are a 100% voluntary, non-profit organisation who work across the world with the aim of uniting communities.
The team will be working with Muslim Hands who have a food distribution point in Salzburg and will be providing meals for 2000 people per day. All money donated will be delivered by hand by the MCE team.
One of the team is Aamir Adam 18 years of age who is very passionate about helping others and doing charity work. Aamir spoke about going to Austria and said ‘he feels privileged to be part of the team who will be visiting these refugees offering support and to gain a better understanding of ways how we can help them. It doesn’t matter what Community, religion or background we are from, we as a nation cannot let this suffering continue in the world, we need to make a difference, we need to make a change. I realise this will be a life changing experience for me and understand this is only the beginning of the hard work required.’
The MCE team plan to have a video link when they are out there so that people across the world can see the situation with their own eyes. On return from the trip, they plan to put together a documentary and talks across the country to raise awareness about the crisis.
