The Met Office has issued Yellow Warnings for Bolton and surrounding areas for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. At the time of reporting these are the forecasts:
Friday: 40-70% probability of sleet and/or light snow showers during the early hours. 40% probability of light snow showers during the morning and 30% probability of light snow showers in the afternoon, with temperatures between 0 and 2 degrees.
Saturday: Daytime 30-40% probability of light snow showers throughout the day, with temperatures between 0 and 2 degrees.
Night-time 70% probability of heavy snow showers on Saturday evening.
Sunday: 80-90% probability of heavy snow showers during the afternoon, with temperatures around 0 degrees.
Forecasts can change of course but even with some variations in the current outlook we’re certainly in for a very wintry weekend. Do please be extra careful if you’re out and about, whether driving or walking, and as community-minded citizens we’re sure you need no reminder to check on neighbours who are elderly or who have limited mobility.
